FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE EX STERLING/LEGEND This remarkable piece is from the original Mint State Seated Dollar set Legend build with our partner Bruce Morelan. We had purchased the entire Sterling Collection just to get at a few coins. This was one. In fact, it took us many years to find one better (the David Akers personal coin). The coin is remarkably FULLY prooflike. At first glance you think it is a proof. The quality is seriously HIGH END! Outrageous surfaces have full booming mirrors. You do not have to imagine them. Amazingly, there are NO visible ticks or lines. Even when using a strong glass anything you find is at most microscopic. The flash is bold and "in your face". A light hint of gold is spread all over. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and are covered with thick creamy frost. The only small negative about this coin-the stars are not struck up. We have no idea how that can happen when most likely this is an early strike (unless weak dies were used). The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 5, NGC 20, CAC 7. PCGS has only graded 3 higher -possibly. The last PCGS CAC MS64 1857 to sell in auction brought $10,825 in January 2018. Of course it looked nothing like this. We paid over $100,000 for the MS65+. The coin offered here was placed by us in the Issaquah Collection back in 2007 for $15,000. All we can say is really? How many has anyone ever seen that look like this? Cert.
