We unhesitatingly call this coin a GEM AU. It unquestionably is one of the finest survivors for the date. Remarkable surfaces are super clean and smooth. You can see a few very faint tiny ticks scattered about but that is it. There are no hidden problems. A surprising strong luster beams from all over. Both sides are a wonderful totally original gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are near fully struck. We have a really hard time finding any wear. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 12, NGC 16, CAC 2. PCSG and CAC each have graded only an MS62 higher. The rarity of this date in MS is extreme. NO PCGS CAC piece in AU58 has ever been sold via auction.
