A wonderful first year of issue for the Seated Liberty type, and many collectors over the years preferred Christian Gobrecht's original design without the stars on the obverse as seen here. The design is more cameo like and balanced. Struck for only two years, this is a very popular type coin. The eye appeal of this impressive jewel is beyond exceptional. Sharply struck devices stand out with razor sharp definition. A dusting of iridescent dove, gold, lilac, and pearly silver gleams when you rotate the satiny surfaces in a light.
