This CHOICE Mint State example is tied for FINEST 46-O Tall Date at PCGS and has a fantastic pedigree, hailing from not just the Osburn collection, but also from the James Pryor Collection, one of the great half dollar collections of the 1990s! Exceptional, semi-Prooflike reflective luster blooms in the fields of this high end and original example Generally well struck, throughout, the lustrous surfaces are kissed by a blush of the faintest steely-silver and pale golden patina, with hints of russet on both sides. A few small marks and scuffs are noted, mostly hidden under the antique patina. The eye appeal is very high end for the assigned grade. Indeed, back in the January 1996 sale of the James Bennet Pryor Collection, the catalogers at Bowers & Merena graded this coin MS63. Ex. J.V.
