- THE TERRA PISTACIA COLLECTION Ex Eliasberg Collection. Probably the FINEST KNOWN J-435. A wonderful "die trial" of this transitional issue. Struck from a regular Proof 1865 obverse die and a regular With Motto reverse die. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This is a Rarity-7- issue, with perhaps a dozen known in all grades. Incredible underlying reflective mirrors are brilliant and glimmer from under about 40% original mint red color that mingles with blushes of iridescent violet, blue, gold, and orange-rose. The surfaces are essentially FLAWLESS! The devices are crisply defined and fully rendered in the planchet. The eye appeal is excellent, as expected for the FINEST KNOWN! This is only the third appearance for this specimen since 1908! Ex Gschwend Collection, Thomas Elder, June 1908, lot 231; John H. Clapp; Clapp Estate to Louis E. Eliasberg Sr in 1942, via Stack's; Louis E. Eliasberg Collection, Bowers & Merena, May 1996, lot 276. PCGS 1. NGC 1, CAC 1. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $23,500. A PCGS PR66 BN sold in 2012 for $17,250; that record is over a decade old! This coin belongs in the FINEST collection of Pattern Seated Liberty dollars and should bring a world record price when the hammer drops. Good luck. Cert. Number 4491621 PCGS # 70620
