详细说明: LRCA is proud to offer one of the FINEST graded J-1602. This beautiful GEM pattern half dollar features George T. Morgan's famed design for the silver dollar mated with a reverse die that features a large, perched eagle with olive branch and arrows in its talons. IN GOD WE TRUST arcs around and below the eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge, this is a low R-7 pattern, with fewer than a dozen specimens known. A gorgeous, warm coppery orange shows a hint of iridescent toning that clings to the peripheries. Boldly reflective mirrored fields are deep, showing off a flashy, watery look. The devices show the typical striking weakness at the centers and a very thick mint frosty texture. A few tiny flecks and a tiny mark on the cheek will hopefully serve as pedigree markers, though we have not been able to positively plate match it to any earlier catalog offerings. PCGS 1, NGC 0. There are only two graded in the CAM designation. A PCGS PR66 RD sold in the 2007 FUN auction for $27,600 and in that designation the Collectors Universe value is listed at 30,000. Only two are graded numerically finer, both in the RB category, a PR66+ RB and a 67+ RB. This is a very rare opportunity for the advanced Pattern collector and once this GEM is sold, who knows when the next one will come up for sale.
