One of the FINEST KNOWN O-108s that exists! This is what a GEM 1833 half dollar should look like! A blazing, underlying cartwheel luster booms under the layer of totally original pale blue, lilac, amber, rose, and gold patina that graces both sides. The devices are incredibly well struck, even in the central areas, which often show some striking weakness. The eye appeal is truly spectacular. PCGS 23, NGC 24, CAC 8. PCGS has graded six in MS65+ and just five finer. No PCGS MS65+ has ever sold in auction, but the most recent PCGS/CAC MS65 was an old green tag holdered coin that brought $14,400 in the 2020 FUN auction. This coin will prove the Collectors Universe value of $11,500 is just too low when the hammer falls. Just two coins are graded finer with CAC approval, none of which have ever sold in auction.
