- 1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 16.1-H, W-4600. Rarity-4. Draped Bust Left. AU-50 (NGC). Glossy and hard chestnut-brown surfaces exhibit a touch of roughness here and there under low magnification, but the overall appearance is still substantial to the unaided eye. Obverse rim tight to tops of CON, late state, die clash at effigy's throat and face, numerous die cracks through AUCTORI, including one that runs from R to bridge of nose, no other marks of measure present, reverse centering affects the bottoms of the date numerals, die crack from rim to Liberty's shin, natural planchet roughness, as struck, from 11 to 2 o'clock. Absolutely choice for the grade despite a few minor drawbacks. PCGS# 409.
