- 1846 Braided Hair Cent. N-7. Rarity-2. Grellman Die State A. Small Date. MS-65 RB (NGC). CAC. This conditionally scarce Gem would make a lovely addition to a high-grade type set. Apart from the often-seen softness of strike along the upper-obverse border, the strike is quite bold for a Braided Hair Cent from the 1840s. There are no worrisome blemishes, and plenty of original medium-orange luster mingles with equally original gray-brown patina.
