- FRANCE. 5 Franc, 1848-BB. Strasbourg Mint. NGC MS-65. KM-749.3; Gad-678a. A finely toned gem example from the final year of minting for the type. Delicate sky blue and champagne hues grace the fields and disappear and reappear when turned in the light while some speckled golden amber tones creep in at the edges. Fully lustrous with only a few light bag marks to stand witness to any kind of handling. The finest graded example for this year of issue at Strasbourg. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000. NGC MS-65.
