Wow, this coin is essentially beyond description! This is not an "almost there" or "pushing it" Cameo, this is as distinct a CAM as nearly any date of this series. Dramatically reflective, deep beaming mirrored fields are smooth and flawless. They are icy and have a brilliant flash all over and are ultra clean and clear. The obverse is a bold chrome-like nickel-silver while the reverse has a soft pastel gold and pale blue iridescent tone. While 1,817 Proofs were struck, the dies were poorly prepared, with very few attaining Cameo contrast. Between PCGS and NGC, 14 total have been assigned a CAMEO designation, and this one is by far the FINEST of all. PCGS 1, NGC 3, CAC 2. This is the ONLY PR67+ CAM at either service. This coin realized a record $23,500 in the 2015 FUN auction, a sale that was held at a generally weak point in the market.
