- 1852 Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-63+ (PCGS). Frosty deep honey-gold with lively luster and some olive-green influencing the surfaces on each side. Despite its common date status, relatively few Choice Uncirculated examples of the date have come down through the ages to today's collectors, see below for a numerical listing of grading events for the date. Choice for the grade and free of heavy marks of consequence. An early Liberty half eagle such as the present piece would make a sterling addition to a gold type set.
