THE CENTRAL ILLINOIS HOARD OF RATTLERS Blazing golden-tan surfaces abound on this lovely Flying Eagle cent. An exacting blow from the dies resulted in crisp and razor sharp defined devices. While a glass reveals a few trivial contact marks on the obverse, these have minimal impact, if any, on the outstanding visual effect of this essentially GEM quality early small sized cent. PCGS 601, NGC 336, CAC 96. The most recent PCGS/CAC example sold for $1,601 in April 2023; prior to that, another CAC-approved rattler sold for $4,800 in March 2023, well above the current published levels.
