This is a very pretty and original GEM Proof 1885 dime. The obverse is a near-CAMEO contrasted brilliant silver with deeply reflective mirrors and thickly frosted devices. The reverse has a watery brilliant flash. Both sides have a soft mauve patina. The eye appeal is excellent. Only 930 Proofs were struck. PCGS 32, NGC 23, CAC 8. The last PCGS/CAC PR66 to sell realized $2,065 in November 2020 (at the time of this writing the one in our Regency Auction 47 had not yet sold). The PCGS Price Guide value is $1,350 and the CAC CPG is $1,370. A very pleasing type coin that will please any collector. Cert. Number 41680328 PCGS # 4782
