详细说明: 1869 Pattern Seated Liberty Dime. Judd-716, Pollock-795. Rarity-6+. Proof-64 (PCGS). CAC. Blended gold and lilac-gray iridescence. The motifs are frosty and the fields have a texture intermediate between satiny and mirrorlike. The obverse is an impression from a working die, but without the date punched in. The die has not been finished and shows many parallel striae. The top of the first S (STATES) is broken at the center, on the reverse we have simply the inscription indicating the metal content, reflecting that this die was made for pattern purposes. Again, the die is not finished and there are many raised striae, mostly parallel, but some at odd angles. This die was made in haste, as evidenced by the irregular spacing of the letters (too wide of a gap between [NIC] and the two crude lines scribed above the date). This particular die combination, in a class by itself, is one of the most interesting of its era. <br />
