- 1870 Pattern Half Dime. Judd-816, Pollock-905. Rarity-7-. Silver. Plain Edge. Proof-66 Cameo (PCGS). CAC. Obverse of Barber's Liberty Seated design facing left, legends surround and date 1870 below. Reverse with the regular half dime die of that year. Gorgeous watery reflective fields combine with the frosted devices. The entire surfaces have a russet-gold tone that glows on the mirror portions when examined. While any offering of this rare pattern issue is significant, this is the finest certified example noted in the PCGS Population Report of any variant of this Judd number. PCGS# 800030.
