Ranking among the ten FINEST graded at PCGS, this is a beautiful, high end GEM 1895-S half dollar that is oozing with originality and dripping with a bold cartwheel luster. Sensational mint brilliance rolls and flows boldly across the surfaces, enlivening the dappled iridescent toning that graces both sides. The luster on the reverse is particularly flashy. The devices are sharp, with full, crisp definition on Liberty's portrait and on the eagle. A strong glass reveals a few minor ticks and traces of contact, but they do not detract from the fresh and outstanding eye appeal. Even if you are a very picky Barber collector, you will LOVE this coin. PCGS 12, NGC 6, CAC 4. There are three graded MS65+ at PCGS, the last one to sell brought $15,600 in February 2018. VERY RARE finer, the last PCGS MS66 CAC sold in 2016 and the PCGS MS67 CAC last sold in our January 2019 Regency Auction for a world record $85,188.
