- 1889 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-66 Cameo (PCGS). A beautiful dusting of olive-gold patina is accented by traces of navy-blue color at the reverse border. Intense and frosty luster is sharply contrasted by watery reflectivity in the fields. This late date Proof Liberty Seated quarter hails from a mintage of 711 pieces. While as many as 600 of these may survive, the vast majority are in grades of Proof-64 and lower. This Cameo Gem is one of the most desirable few and only 7 coins have been graded higher by PCGS in this category. It is more carefully preserved and attractive than most survivors we have handled in recent years, and comes highly recommended for inclusion in an advanced type set.
