详细说明: WOW! What an amazing SUPERB GEM PROOF large cent! The mirrors are ULTRA deep. They are clean and exceptionally smooth and icy. The technical qualities are exceptional, as to be expected for this VERY RARE issue. The deep bronze, mahogany, and rich chocolate brown surfaces show rich cobalt blue and cranberry accents--the patination very similar to bronze medals struck at the Philly mint. All the devices are sharply rendered from an exacting blow from the dies. Perhaps 12-15 examples are estimated to exist, making it one of the rarest large cent proof issues--all known examples are from the N-42 die marriage-- and the present example is the absolute finest in any color designation graded by either PCGS or NGC. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This coin is ex Superior September 2004, where it realized $17,250 as a PR65 BN. As the finest known 1847 Proof cent in BN, this coin is a real trophy for any advanced collector. The finest n the Twin Leaf Collection was a PCGS PR65 RB CAC that sold for a record $64,625.
