- GREAT BRITAIN. Landing of William of Orange at Torbay Silver Medal, 1688. PCGS SP-50 Gold Shield. 48 mm. Eimer-297Bb; MI-639/64. By G. Bower. Armored bust right, legend: "GVILIELMVS - III - D - G PRIN - AVR - HOL - ET - WES - GVB" around, dated 1688 on truncation of arm. Equestrian figure leads his army on the shore with a large fleet assembled beyond at sea. Inscription: "TERRAS - ASTRAEA - REUISIT" above. A fine casting, expertly chased. Rich pearl gray patina with darker tones around the legends, devices, and in the deeper recesses of the design. Estimate: $200 - $300.
