First emission of the ecu d'or a la croisettetype, struck for Francois I at Rouen ("B" mintmark, one of the first coins issued after the mintmark reform). Superb quality for the issue, displaying a bold strike with full legends on a virtually round flan. RARELYseen in a more collectible state, with this being the single finest graded of this issue at PCGS. Estimate: $1,700 - $2,000.
