- 1788 New Jersey Copper. Maris 77-dd, W-5535. Rarity-3 for die state. Head Right, Running Fox Before Legend. VF-20. 151.24 grains. Light golden-tan high points against golden-brown fields. The surfaces appear hard and glossy at first glance but low magnification reveals shiny, cakey detritus throughout. Nicely centered on both sides, some scattered marks seen including an old X scratch on the viewer's left side of the shield. Running Fox device plainly seen. PCGS# 524. Provenance: Paper envelope with attribution notes included.
