The 1883 Philadelphia mint Morgan dollar is not a rare coin at all, however, DMPLs are very scarce, and in Premium GEM grades, as here, they are exceptionally RARE. The presently offered MS66 DMPL is among the FINEST graded, with just two MS66+ DMPL graded higher. Its stark white frosted devices stand out in bold contrast to the highly reflective, deep Prooflike fields. Each detail is nicely rendered and the surfaces are quite clean, with no major marks or breaks in the mirrored reflection anywhere. The eye appeal is outstanding! PCGS 17, NGC 9. The three most recent APRs range from $4,080 to $4,560 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $9,000.
