- Extremely Rare Pattern Wen CHINA. Pattern Cash (Wen), ND (ca. 1903?). Tientsin Mint. PCGS SP Genuine--Environmental Damage, Unc Details Secure Holder. CL-HB.48; Duan-2497; cf.CCC-640; cf.Hsu-4; cf.KM-Pn264. EXTREMELY RARE and one of only four known examples. Struck in brass. Due to a shortage of copper currency that affected many in the country a proposed one Cash (Wen) was prepared at the central mint at Tientsin. The proposed coinage followed the old monetary system and was rejected never to be put into full production. Minor debris and verdigris on edges account for the "Environmental Damage", though hardly distracting. Sharply struck with clear definition of the characters and attractive mottled patina. Click here for certification details from PCGS. 極其罕見一文銅樣幣。 光緒通寶一文銅樣幣。天津造幣廠。 極其罕見。此款已知僅有四枚。黃銅鑄打。因當時全國多地銅幣稀缺，天津中央造幣廠打算生產一文銅幣，但此貨幣方案在當時舊體制下未獲通過，故此款從未大規模生產。邊緣有輕微污跡和銅鏽等環境損傷，但瑕不掩瑜。深打，圖文清晰，色澤斑駁，頗具魅力。十分稀奇的試鑄幣，定能吸引藏家為之競相出價。
