1791 Washington Liverpool Halfpenny. Baker-17, W-10650. Rarity-6. Lettered Edge. EF-40 (PCGS). 137.7 grains. Deep golden-brown with chocolate highlights. Low magnification reveals a patchwork of old scratches on Washington's portrait with numerous tiny marks dotting the fields on both sides. Obverse rim tight to the legend and date, as always seen, reverse rim tight to HALFPENNY, cud at top of ship's mast. Also known as Lancashire, D&H-116, in the Conder token series. A rare and desirable type in any grade.
