The SERIES KEY and always in demand with collectors and dealers alike. This piece boasts terrific design details. Crisp feather definition to the tips and strong hair detail on Liberty's head and neck. Although probably lightly dipped at some point, the coin is toned in soft pearl-gray hues with golden accents. Honest wear in the fields and on the high points, but happily, devoid of contact marks or abrasions.
PCGS 446, NGC 195. An example was sold in August of this year for $8,400 and another in April 2023 for $7,200. Much of the value is determined by the overall look and appeal of the coin. A mere 100,000 pieces were struck this year. We would venture to say this coin is in the top 20% for the grade based on the amount of detail present. It looks more like a VF-35 (no guarantees). Be prepared to bid enthusiastically if you want to procure this rarity!
