FROM THE BIG CYPRESS COLLECTION The mintage rose slightly from 1883 to 16,402, still well below the 82,817 struck in 1882. Honest wear graces both sides. There are no egregious marks or lines of any kind that impact the pleasing eye appeal. Warm honey gold surfaces have traces of blue patina near the rims. The eye appeal is nice for the grade. PCGS 6, NGC 4. The last two mid grade VF35 examples sold for $1,800 in March 2021 and May 2019. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $2,250. The value jumps to $3,500 in 40.
