An old friend, a coin we sold last year as part of the Cullen B. Collection, which was described as: "First off, we think all that keeps this beauty from a full MS65 GEM grade is a small reeding mark on Liberty's cheek. Brilliant lustrous surfaces radiate with a bold rolling cartwheel effect. The devices are well struck with a wonderful crispness. A few minor ticks are seen with a glass. Both sides are framed by a rich orange-gold and navy blue peripheral tone. For the more modest grade assigned, the eye appeal is exceptional!" PCGS 1086, NGC 618, CAC 102. PCGS has graded 50 in MS64+. This coin brought $1,234 in our December 2019 Regency Auction, and before that, these were selling for $1,400 or more.
