- A Gem Cameo Proof distinguished by strong cameo contrast and gorgeous multi-colored toning. The proof mintage of 1000 might be deceiving as relatively few survive due to issuance in the first year of the Civil War, especially in high grade. PCGS 6, NGC 0, CAC 4, only 5 finer. Listed in the PCGS price guide for $5,000. We can find only 2 auction appearances for this date and grade, both for the present coin. We sold this beautiful cameo gem at auction in January 2020 for $4,230. The market is stronger now and the trend is clear so bid accordingly. Cert. Number 15545715 PCGS # 84444
