- Blazing white with no signs of toning and boldly reflective semi-prooflike fields. There are a modest number of semi-prooflike coins from the original mintage of the New Rochelle Half Dollar, not many, but a few. This is one of the finest certified by NGC which designates these with PL next to the grade similar to the Morgan Dollar series. Naturally, the more reflective the fields are, the more delicate they are too, as bagmarks really stand out on these delicate mirror surfaces. Therefore, finding a prooflike coin at the superb level is a real treat, as the fields and devices are so pristine. Highly appealing! PCGS 186, NGC 16, CAC 5.
