This is a totally original, GEM AU. This O-101 is the definition of "super slider." Below the layer of pewter, slate, rose, and olive toning, a warm, satiny luster glows wonderfully. Sharply struck on both sides, the dies cracked, especially on the obverse. The eye appeal is bold. PCGS 25, NGC 21, CAC 9. There are just three examples graded AU58+. We sold a PCGS AU58 CAC in our September 2016 Regency Auction for $5,640. In AU58+, Collectors Universe lists a $7,000 value. RARE in Mint State, this is a very popular variety and the first of many overdates in the Capped Bust half dollar series. Cert. Number 33396912 PCGS # 6091.00
