This is a totally original near-GEM example of this low mintage Civil War era Proof. Flashy watery mirrors gleam boldly with a strong underlying brilliance. The surfaces are bathed in an antique silver-gray, slate-blue, and aqua-teal blue toning. The devices are crisply impressed with razor sharp precision. The eye appeal is great. Only 500 Proofs were struck. PCGS 34, NGC 39, CAC 4. The last one sold in August 2021 for $4,200 and that was the first in five years! The current PCGS and CAC CPG values are out of date.
