THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION PART II Just over half a million half dollars were struck during the height of the Civil War, and this GEM ranks near the top of the NGC Census. Sharply struck from polished dies, there are a number of die lines seen on both sides. The devices are sharply struck and frosted. The surfaces are brilliant and untoned, likely dipped ages ago. The untoned surfaces are generally pleasing. The eye appeal is nice. PCGS 9, NGC 15. The most recent example sold in our Part 1 of the Boylston Collection, in April 2021. for $5,170.
