- 1795 Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent. Fuld-1, W-8620. Rarity-1. Lettered Edge: WE PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ONE CENT--Flipover Double Strike--AU-58 (PCGS). 147.0 grains. A remarkable major error strike on this usually well-produced type. Errors of any type are seldom seen on Talbot, Allum & Lee cents and indeed are quite rare in the context of the Conder token series as a whole. This is easily the most dramatic of just a small handful of errors we have seen on this issue, a clear flipover double strike with bold remnants of the legends from the first strike visible on each side. An excellent quality coin too, with choice light brown surfaces, just a hint of wear, and superior overall eye appeal. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
