- 1874-CC Seated Liberty Dime. Arrows. Fine-12 (PCGS). OGH. Warm steel gray with lilac gray highlights. The undisputed "king" of the Liberty Seated dime series; its mintage—not the lowest in the series—was a scant 10,817 pieces with a total face value of just $1,081.70, representing a paltry amount of small change production in an era of heady commercial times in and around Carson City. Fairly smooth and not heavily marked—more often than not this date is found with "ground recovery" surfaces, rough and unappealing, but the present coin is a pleasing exception to its usual reputation. Housed in an OGH for decades now—why tamper with a good thing? When a '74-CC dime comes to auction, many are the specialists who sit up and take notice; unfortunately, just one serious bidder goes home with the prize. We hope it's you!

Numismatic Reflections by Q. David Bowers
A very pleasing example, exceptional surface quality for this grade.
