- "1832" (ca. 1858) Civic Procession Medal. Second Restrike. Musante GW-130-R2, Baker-160D. Copper. MS-64 (NGC). 32 mm. Light, mottled steel-brown iridescence to the reverse, although the obverse retains nearly full deep orange color. The surfaces are satiny and otherwise smooth in hand, a tiny trace of residue in the right reverse field is noted. A single reverse crack extends from the border at 8 o'clock to the letters IVER in ANNIVERSARY. Clearly an early striking after the die cracked, as we have seen several examples with the reverse shattered by numerous breaks. Click here for certification details from NGC.
