THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION This coin is absolutely pristine! Icy luster brilliantly accents the sharply struck devices and flawless surfaces. WOW! From the first year of the most American design; the Type 1 nickels feature the buffalo on a raised mound. The reverse looks sculpted, not struck, a true piece of medallic art! This design feature, while more artistic was changed to a flat line, which remained for the rest of the series, putting the denomination in a more protected position. PCGS 836, NGC 485, CAC 325. There are 135 in MS67+ at PCGS. The most recent example sold for $2,040 in December 2021 and it was not CAC approved. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,150. With PCGS MS68 CAC examples selling in the $14,400 to $18,800 range in recent years, this dynamic and high end MS67+ seems like a great value and worthy of a substantial bid. Cert.
