- POLAND. East Prussia. 6 Groszy, 1761. Elizabeth (1741-62). PCGS AU-50 Secure Holder. C-45b (under Poland); Bit-808. Issued during the Russian occupation of East Prussia during the Seven Years War. The Russian army had Frederick the Great trapped and was preparing the decisive blow when the news of Elizabeth's death and the succession of the Prussophile Peter III stopped the campaign. This example is remarkably silvery considering its .306 fine composition. We note a small planchet flaw on the empress's decolletage but otherwise problem free. Estimate: $300 - $500.
