PHILIPPINES. Peso, 1905-S. San Francisco Mint. NGC MS-63. KM-168; Allen-16.06. Curved Serif on '1' variety. The more common of the two serif varieties, this example nevertheless presents radiant luster and only scattered light hairlines and marks. An NGC MS-61 of the straight serif variety just realized a hammer of $9,000 [!] on a $1000-1500 estimate in our June 2019 CCO auction. A choice specimen. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000.
