- This is a very high grade 1940 dime. A soft overlay of iridescent pearly-silver and clear gold highlights frosty lustrous surfaces that have a bold satin sheen. Virtually flawless and expertly struck up this coin was lovingly cared for since it came off the dies. PCGS 39, NGC 23. The most recent example brought $1,260 in the 2021 ANA auction. Today the Collectors Universe value is $3,600. Just three are graded higher in MS68+ FB at NGC, none of which have sold in auction. Cert. Number 4913996031 PCGS # 5023
