- The First Through Last Collection. Newcomb-1 (R.5 as a proof). NGC has certified an astonishing PR-65 RD example seen by the cataloger at an EAC display many years ago, but exceeding that technical grade by a point is the present PR-66 RB specimen, albeit this coin's reddish surface succumbs to some deeper russet-grey toning in towards the periphery. Wintergreen iridescence plays out as well as the coin is slowly rotated beneath good white lighting. One single small greyish spot just right of STATES bears mention but there are no marks or other distractions to be found.
