FROM THE PERFECTION COLLECTION OF CAPPED BUST HALF DOLLARS Ex Eliasberg, as noted on the old green tag. Possibly the FINEST KNOWN O-104! What a wonderful, totally ORIGINAL example of this Rarity-2 die pairing, which hails from the most famous collections of all time, Louis Eliasberg. Last offered as lot 1783 of the April 1997 Eliasberg Auction, where it was described as: "All details are sharp, and the design is well centered on the planchet. Lustrous golden brown surfaces have faint traces of rose and lilac. Splashes of very dark gold are found a few peripheral devices such as stars and letters. The obverse has satiny luster, the reverse is reflective...Possibly the finest known of this variety; certainly Condition Census." We cannot add much to that description. This coin was submitted to PCGS shortly after the Eliasberg sale and has remained in the old green tag holder since. The eye appeal is incredible, the patina is truly original and very high end. Ex. Louis E. Eliasberg Collection, Bowers & Merena/ Stack's, April 1997, lot 1783. PCGS 2, NGC 4, CAC 3. The ex Pogue coin was the most recent PCGS MS66 CAC to sell in auction, realizing $69,000 in the 2021 ANA auction. The current Collectors Universe value is $65,000 and the CAC CPG value is $60,000. While PCGS lists 3 finer on the Population Report, none have sold since 1990. This is a real prize for the collector! Good luck. Cert. Number 4708408 PCGS # 6129
