GERMANY. Frankfurt. Ducat, 1658. Leopold I. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. Fr-980; KM-126. Issued for the coronation of Leopold I as Holy Roman Emperor, this remarkable piece features a highly elaborate and attractive design, significant luster in the fields and handsome honeyed tone. A little wave is noted in the planchet, but nonetheless, rare as a type and VERY RAREin this quality, this being the only Mint State example thus far certified by either PCGS or NGC.
