- 1942 Experimental Cent. Judd-2060, Pollock-Unlisted, RB 42-58 Third Reverse. Rarity-7-. Injection Molded Cellulose Acetate (Tenite I), Brown. Plain Edge. Specimen-62 (PCGS).
18.9 mm, 1.9 mm thick. 8.0 grains. Obv:Bust of Columbia faces right, the portrait borrowed from the Colombian 2 centavo coin. The periphery is inscribed LIBERTY / JUSTICE with the date 1942 below. Rev:A simple wreath surrounds the inscription UNITED / STATES / MINT, the wreath copied from the Baker-155 Washington medalet. A sharply rendered golden-bronze example with intermingled blushes of olive. The sandblast texture is as made, the test marks on the reverse the result of evaluation by the National Bureau of Standards.
