- 1831 Matron Head Cent. N-8. Rarity-3. Large Letters. EF-45 (PCGS). A pleasing, original Choice EF with mottled chocolate-brown and tan surfaces with some splashes of darker olive. Nicely struck, no major marks, and traces of luster persist at the peripheries. Provenance: From the John McBride Collection. Earlier from Heritage's August 2008 Baltimore Auction, lot 7238.
