- FRANCE. Bronze Aluminum Franc Essai (Pattern) Mule, ND (1930). Paris Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-64 Gold Shield. GEM-96.2; Maz-2584. A VERY RAREissue, which combines the Morlon-designed liberty head pattern obverse with the adopted design obverse on the Chamber of Commerce Franc issues (KM-876). Only the second example of the type we've seen, the last hammering in a French auction in 2016 for 977 Euros (approximately $1,200 including buyer's fee). Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
