Beautifully toned on both sides, this premium GEM has bold, icy mirrors that beam in the fields with bold clarity. The well struck devices are fully frosted and there is exceptional contrast between the devices and surrounding fields. The eye appeal is quite nice. Only 975 proofs were struck. PCGS 11, NGC 11, CAC 5. Only two PCGS/CAC examples have ever sold in auction. The most recent was five years ago, realizing $1,763 in March 2013. The only other one was the Teich Family Collection coin sold in November 2011 for $2,588 (that coin had been off the market since Stack's June 1959 auction). We cannot find an auction record for this GEM. These are just too cheap today! Cert. Number 20531544 PCGS # 84778
