- ITALY. Papal States. 1/2 Scudo d'Oro, ND (1709)-IX. Clement IX (1700-21). NGC MS-64. Fr-200; KM-717; Berman-2368. Obverse: Radiant head of St. Peter, SANCTVS PETRVS AP[OSTOLVS] around; Reverse: Papal arms, tiara and keys above. Stunningly designed and immaculately preserved with knife-like sharpness appearing throughout all portions of the captivating design and sparkling mint bloom that absolutely flies off the surfaces. Altogether, an amazing survivor of this diminutive type, presently unmatched and unsurpassed in quality in either the NGC or PCGS census data. Estimate: $1,800 - $2,600. Provenance: Ex: Eric P.
