Obverse: Jugate uniformed and garlanded busts right of Louis de Velasco and Vincenzo Gonzalez; Reverse: Explosion at the center of Morro Castle; in foreground in Havana Bay, ships and boats assaulting the fortifications. A RARE type ever popular with collectors of early American-related medals, this piece celebrates the successful siege of Havana by the British as a part of the Anglo-Spanish War--an offshoot of the Seven Years' War which, in the American theater, was known as the French and Indian War.
