THE SOMMELIER COLLECTION A gorgeous, sharply struck GEM from this important Civil War year. Brilliantly lustrous golden-tan coloration. The reverse die was shattered when this beauty was struck, two large die cracks that probably would turn into major die breaks on later strikes. The surfaces are extremely clean and free of all but the tiniest ticks. The eye appeal is great. PCGS 335, NGC 233, CAC 92. There are 14 in MS65+. The last one sold for $1,880 over six years ago.
